Higher Ground Farm works with institutions to design on-site farms and gardens that provide fresh, organic food as well as education, team building, and community benefit opportunities.
All the food grown at the Boston Medical Center urban garden goes directly to their kitchens for patients, staff, and visitors, and to their on-site Preventive Food Pantry. In addition to being a source of fresh food, the BMC farm is a learning space for those wanting to eat a healthier diet. On-farm tours, volunteer opportunities for employees, and programs through BMC's Teaching Kitchen for patients exemplify BMC's mission to address and improve social determinants of health, like nutrition.
