Reclaim Community
Reclaim Community is a non-profit organization dedicated to economic revitalization through community engagement and sustainable adaptive reuse of historic buildings. Their mission is to solve environmental and economic problems by mobilizing a community to reuse its cultural assets.
They established an edible landscape feature to the school grounds that will serve to reduce the community’s status as a food desert, and increase access to fresh food. It also serves as a project that will positively impact residents’ enjoyment and quality of life by providing a beautiful outdoor setting for activities and events, as well as providing more native plants that will positively impact the pollinator insects and birds in the area.
