Soul Proprietors, Inc. - An idea to improve many needs in the urban community came to fruition: recidivism, health, education, community awareness, and economic wellness. One of their initiatives is distributing seedlings to home gardeners in their community as well as maintaining community gardens that grow produce for those in need, soup kitchens and more.
The Bridge - Offers nutritious food to those in need, and researches high yeild growing in locations across the city.Check out this community development organization rehabilitating the Allison Hill section of Harrisburg, PA by building an eco-village that provides affordable housing, education in healthy eating and financial freedom.
Community Garden at Oak Grove - This is a non-profit organization which supports New Sewickley Township, PA right outside of Cranberry Township. The goal of the garden is to provide plots of land to members of the community who do not have land of their own to garden and grow fresh produce. Community members collaborate to donate fresh produce to residents of Beaver County through the Mental Health Association of Beaver County. Over the last 7 years the organization has been able to donate in excess of 6 tons of fresh food, reaching over 200 families. In addition, at the garden, there are several honey-bee hives which do produce honey - one is even used as an education hive that is taken to youth programs and schools throughout Beaver and Butler Counties.

GoggleWorks - is committed to collaborating with others who share the belief that the arts can strengthen and enhance quality of life in our community, spur economic growth, and contribute to the cultural vitality of our region. In addition to an annual program and educational offerings, they implement a number of outreach programs, including the newest program - our urban farm and classroom gardens.
Roaring Spring, PA
18th Wonder Improvement Association - exists to promote a clean, connected, crime-free community. They have created a community garden space where children and families can access fresh produce and learn how to live a healthier lifestyle. The Community Garden Project is a small demonstration of their desire for social justice and community activism in the 18th Ward.
RSCL - is a public library offering programs and services at no cost to the community. In 2021 they stared The Giving Garden where volunteers grow fruits and vegetables at the library for anyone to enjoy and eat. Their Fridge in the Foyer program allows community members to donate extra produce. Their new seed library will also offer gardening and cooking classes. Seed libraries provide important physical and informational resources so that members of the community can learn and practice in growing their own food.
