Charitable Organizations in Massachusetts to connect with and donate fresh garden produce and saved seeds:

Boston, MA

Higher Ground Farm - works with institutions to design on-site farms and gardens that provide fresh, organic food as well as education, team building, and community benefit opportunities. All the food grown at the Boston Medical Center urban garden goes directly to their kitchens for patients, staff, and visitors, and to their on-site Preventive Food Pantry. In addition to being a source of fresh food, the BMC farm is a learning space for those wanting to eat a healthier diet.  On-farm tours, volunteer opportunities for employees, and programs through BMC's Teaching Kitchen for patients exemplify BMC's mission to address and improve social determinants of health, like nutrition.

Everett, MA
The Family Resource Center - Offers assistance and guidance to help families with children 0-18 to achieve their goals through a range of programs that nurture family environment. The FRC hosts and facilitates parenting support groups, open play, social groups and events to strengthen families by giving them the tools they need through education and engagement. They have a food pantry that serves hundreds of families on a weekly basis. They have no income verification or residency requirements. All their services are free. As part of their food pantry program, they provide seeds, soil, and growing containers to families to grow their own food.
Plymouth, MA

Earth Defenders - is a father son team who uses regenerative agriculture to sequester carbon in an effort to help fight climate change. Meanwhile, they take their harvests and donate it to local food pantries or anyone in need.

Groundwork Somerville - is passionate about local food access, youth empowerment, community engagement and education. They are working toward a more healthy, equitable city through School Garden Education, a high school youth employment program on their farm, community cleaning and greening projects, clean river efforts and more. Groundwork Somerville uses seeds to grow food on their urban farm sites, in school gardens, and also to share with their community members to empower people to grow their own food and learn more about the food system.
