Add some beauty to your summer with this vividly colored flower. Wild violet petunia is an annual with a sprawling habit that looks quite attractive spilling over the edge of hanging baskets or large growing containers. Hummingbirds, bees, and butterflies are attracted to its blooms all summer long.
Start petunia seeds indoors for early blooms - Large, premium seed packets give instructions on how to grow and when to plant outdoors
Start indoors 8-10 weeks before last frost date, or sow directly outside after soil warms to 70°. Sprinkle seeds on surface of soil, pressing them in for good contact. Mist with water to prevent disturbing seeds, and keep moist until germination. Once seedlings are a few inches tall, harden and transplant to a spot with well-drained, fertile soil.

I live in AZ, wasn't sure how these flowers would do in 110 degree heat, but with afternoon shade they were great! I've tried planting the whole wave series of pets without much luck, but these guys were so prolific I had to keep scraping them off their neighbors. Highly recommend!
