Great Lakes Lettuce (Lactuca sativa) is a popular head lettuce that produces large, well-packed heads of crisp green leaves. Iceberg variety is slow bolting, sunburn resistant and adapted to hotter temperatures. A carefully selected variety to grow outdoors in the garden planted in the spring or fall. Prefers a bit of shade in hot summer weather. Can also be grown indoors during winter under lights or in hydroponics system. Seed packet contains 600 MG (about 400 seeds).

A leaf of freshly cut lettuce is so much tastier than a plastic-wrapped salad kit. Grow your own and enjoy gourmet salads. Large, premium seed packets give instructions on how to grow and when to plant outdoors.

Sow indoors 3-4 weeks before transplanting outdoors or or sow directly as soon as soil is workable. Harden seedlings 2-3 days before setting out. Choose fertile, well-draining rich soil and keep moist.

Days to germination: 7-14
Planting depth: 1/4"
Plant Spacing: 12"
Soil Temperature: 50-65°F
Light Requirements: Partial Shade
