Winter Rye (Secale cereale) is an extremely hardy winter crop that adds organic matter to the soil and prevents erosion. Usually survives winter and continues to protect soil into spring. Seed packet contains 14 G (about 500 seeds).

This packet contains enough seed to plant an 8' x 4' bed. Early spring or early fall, broadcast seeds evenly. Rake 1" deep into soil. For green manure, mow down or till and fully incorporate into soil at least a month before sowing new crops. To harvest grains and berries, harvest after seeds have fully dried.
