Dark green crinkly leaves and striking ruby red stems and veins resemble rhubarb. More frost tolerant than other swiss chard varieties. Leaves are tasty added to a salad or steamed with other vegetables.
Start seeds indoors with supplemental heat for best germination. Transplant to a sunny spot with fertile soil. Water evenly. Begin harvesting outside leaves when plants are 6 to 8" tall, leaving plenty of leaves for regrowth.
