    Marsh Mallow (Althea officinalis) is a perennial flowering herb. It looks similar to hollyhock with its tall stocks and lovely pink and white flowers. Traditionally used for culinary and medicinal purposes, the marsh mallow root is the original source for marsh mallow. You can make your own tasty marshmallows at home by growing this in your home herb garden! The root can also be used to make herbal tea or homemade salves and poultices. 

    Marsh Mallow germinate in 14-21 days and should be planted in an area with full sun. Marsh Mallow flowers in about 120 days and the root is ready to be harvest in about 700 days. This plant grows best in zones 3-9.
