Vates Collard (Brassica oleracea) is an extremely high-yielding collard that matures early. The dark green leaves are both heat resistant and cold hardy. They taste sweetest when they've been kissed by frost. 75 days to maturity. Standard seed packet contains 750 mg (about 275 seeds). Jumbo packet contains 4 g (about 1,200 seeds).

Add this delicious and hearty green to your soups, stir-fries, and salads. Large, premium seed packets give instructions on how to grow and when to plant outdoors.

Direct sowing is recommended, but can be started indoors 4-6 weeks before transplanting outdoors. Can be planted in early spring or late summer. Seedlings do best at temperatures around 60°. Keep well-watered, especially if grown as a summer crop.

Days to germination: 10-21
Planting depth: 1/2"
Plant Spacing: 18 – 24”
Soil Temperature: 50-70°F
Light Requirements: Full Sun
