Bull's Blood Beet (Beta vulgaris) is a lovely cool weather plant that is known for their stunning reddish-purple leaves as well as their globe-shaped roots. Roots develop into tender 2-3" baby beets that have a delicate candy-striped interior with pink rings. 50 days to maturity. Seed packet contains 1.5 G (about 90 seeds).

Both the leaves and the roots are amazing in salads and other dishes. The roots are sweet and delicious, and are amazing when roasted or pickled. The leaves, when picked young, add delicious color and crunch to fresh salads. Large, premium seed packets give instructions on how to grow and when to plant outdoors.

Sow directly outside in deep, fertile, evenly moist soil. Can also be started in a cold frame or indoors 5-6 weeks before the last frost. Do not disturb taproot when transplanting.

Days to germination: 5-15
Planting depth:  1/2"
Plant Spacing: 2-4"
Soil Temperature: 60-70°F
Light Requirements: Full Sun
