Russian tarragon (Artemisia dracunculoides Pursch) is an herbaceous bushy perennial that can reach 2-4 feet tall. This vigorous plant produces an abundance of slender aromatic leaves with an earthy anise flavor. Plant in full sun for the most intense flavor. Seed packet contains 500 MG (about 300 seeds).
Flavor pairs well with chicken dishes including: soups, roasted meat, and marinades. Tarragon leaves are also used for their digestive, and sleep improving benefits. Can be dried or used fresh. Start sage seeds indoors for early blooms - Large, premium seed packets give instructions on how to grow and when to plant outdoors.
Sow directly outdoors into well-draining, fertile soil after the last frost, or start indoors 6-8 weeks ahead of time. Harden off and transplant outside once seedlings reach 3" tall. Established plants are tolerant of drought; do not overwater.
