Tendersweet watermelon (Citrullus lanatus) grows large, 35-pound watermelons with thick striped dark green rinds. The brightly colored orange flesh is lovely and delicious, with a tender texture and exceptional sweetness. Seed packet contains 2 G (about 30 seeds).

This variety, and all other watermelons love heat, the hotter the better. If you live in a cooler climate, start seeds indoors early and transplant to the hottest spot in your yard.
