This variety of Purslane, also known as hogweed or pigweed, is a low-growing annual with succulent leaves and cheerful flowers. The juicy leaves are edible, with a peppery flavor, and rich in omega-3 fatty acids. An easy-to-grow and heat-tolerant ground cover for full sun areas.

Sow seeds directly after the last frost or start indoors 2-4 weeks before transplanting. Light is required for germination; press into soil for good contact. Choose well-drained soil in a sunny location. Readily reseeds itself, harvest young or remove flowers to prevent spread.
