This variety of pea, also known as Alderman, is a classic English heirloom first introduced in 1881. The 6-foot tall vines produce an abundance of 4-5" pods filled with sweet, plump peas. Easy to pick and shell, Telephone peas are delicious eaten fresh or preserved.
Seed packet contains 13g (about 55 seeds). Start Pea seeds indoors for early blooms - Large, premium seed packets give instructions on how to grow and when to plant outdoors.
Sow outside as soon as soil can be worked in spring or in late summer 10-12 weeks before first frost. Grows best in cooler weather under 85°. Cover seedlings during frost until plants are strong. Provide support for vines to climb.
