Start inside 10-12 weeks before last frost date. Onion seedlings can tolerate light frosts so they may be transplanted early. Plant in rich soil and keep well-watered. Harvest at any stage but for good storage, pull bulbs once the tops lay down and then cure them in an airy location out of direct sunlight until the outer layers dry.
