The tangy green leaves of frost-hardy sorrel are a welcome delight every spring. This delicious perennial adds a distinctive zip to salads. Sorrel is also tasty sautéed as a nutritious green leafy. Seed packet contains 750 MG (about 400 seeds).
The leaves are high in vitamins A and C, as well as potassium - they can be used to season beans, sausages, vegetables, stuffings, soups and stews. Large, premium seed packets give instructions on how to grow and when to plant outdoors.
Sow seeds directly after all danger of frost or start indoors 3-4 weeks before last frost date. Harden plants before transplanting to well-drained soil that is rich with organic matter. Remove flower spikes in early summer to prolong fresh leaf production.
