The gold standard for old-fashioned sweet corn, Bantam (Zea mays) has excellent sweet flavor. Open-pollinated heirloom produces two or more ears of sweet golden corn per stalk. Each ear has 8 rows of golden kernels. Standard seed packet contains 13 g (about 50 seeds). Jumbo packet contains 2 oz (about 200 seeds).
This variety is ideal for freezing, roasting and eating right off the cob. Delicious as a side or in recipes. Large, premium seed packets give instructions on how to grow and when to plant outdoors.
