Lolla Rose Lettuce (Lactuca sativa) has curly, dark magenta and green leaves that form loose 7" heads. This is a "cut and come again" variety that can be cut down to 2" and regrown for another harvest. Slow bolting and cold tolerant, this lettuce is great for cool weather. Prefers a bit of shade in hot summer weather. Can also be grown indoors during winter under lights or in hydroponics system. Seed packet contains 600 MG (about 400 seeds).
A leaf of freshly cut lettuce is so much tastier than a plastic-wrapped salad kit. Grow your own and enjoy gourmet salads. Large, premium seed packets give instructions on how to grow and when to plant outdoors.
Sow indoors 3-4 weeks before transplanting outdoors or or sow directly as soon as soil is workable. Harden seedlings 2-3 days before setting out. Choose fertile, well-draining rich soil and keep moist.
